With an increased amount of predators, prey, and competition, the omniclongulators had yet more evolutionary pressure to become more adept at hunting prey and better at avoiding predators and competition. This phenomenon resulted in the existence of the species known as Timothy. Timothy is largely an ambush predator who looks for his prey in the dense Kamm woodland.

Timothy is somewhat related to the Stabbiclongulator, sharing a common ancestor with the genes for a slight extension of the “feet” that was otherwise a normal omniclongulator, meaning they form a clade that the modern omniclongulator is technically excluded from. However, instead of just being muscular, each of Timothy’s foot growths contain 4 hard cartilaginous skeletal elements, with the most proximal “bones” being larger and wider to bear some weight. These help Timothy to move somewhat faster, jump, and more easily climb through the undergrowth.

While Timothy’s speed is more of a generalist adaptation, Timothy continues to also advance his shooting ability. Timothy’s bullets are even more rigid and dense, being made almost entirely out of a more rigid and dense version of keratin. The remaining material in the bullets are trace minerals that are used to fill in the gaps and make the bullets heavier. To make up for this, Timothy’s throat sac is larger and stronger, creating an obvious bulge on the neck even when not being used. This all serves to make Timothy’s bullets more effective than the omniclongulator’s, with Timothy effectively being to the omniclongulator as the omniclongulator was to the clongus. The downside with this is the fact that Timothy’s bullets take more time and resources to make, although Timothy has more gut diverticuli than his ancestor to try and make up for this. To protect him from his own bullets Timothy also has a more sturdy and armored barrel.

Timothy has another major hunting improvement though, one that surpasses both foot extensions and better bullets in terms of energy efficiency. For the longest time the prey items of clonguses were limited to what they could fit in their digestive patch and carry around, but Timothy rejects this old constraint by actually having teeth. Yes, folks, that’s right, Timothy has teeth now. The appendages around his digestive patch have developed rigid keratin spikes, making it possible for him to tear off chunks of his prey and stuff them into his digestive patch. This is especially useful for hunting snamfguses, which were previously mostly ignored due to their large size and quills. Teeth don’t account for snamfguses by themselves though, so Timothy is also smart enough to know how to flip the snamfgus over in order to get a good bite in the first place. The digestive patch itself is now quite deep and long, continuing for about half of Timothy’s body length, making it easier for Timothy to carry and digest more food. Due to its increased length and efficiency, the digestive patch is basically a novel blind gut, and will henceforth probably be referred to as the second gut.

Timothy has disruptive coloration in order to make his outline less visible in the thick forest. He is also larger than his ancestor in order to make himself harder to hunt by other clonguses. Timothy’s air-filled organs including his second gut, lungs, and some specialized bullet diverticuli in the very front and back have expanded, acting as air sacs to help to reduce Timothy’s weight a little.

For clarification, Timothy is an entire species, not an individual. There are multiple Timothies. Female Timothies may be respectfully called Timothiettes if the need arises. Juveniles are known as Timothy Juniors.
