With the stagnant ecosystem of space, some Spheres of Imminent Doom began developing in odd ways and becoming less of an ungodly threat to life itself, and more of an actual organism, eventually resulting in the Schattolauren. They mainly drift around the Solar System, and have become totally unable to live within the gravity of a planet due to how their cells have completely adapted to zero gravity, and mainly feed on ambient spite and photosynthesize in this state. Their ability to derive energy from light is thanks to their now nearly vanta black coloration, and new, somewhat chloroplast-like organelles that have evolved within their cells. They usually get out of this state and become more active after a few months or years, where they start off sluggish and don't pay much attention to other organisms, and more so attempt feeding on the large flora around the Piss Planet Belt if they live there. This makes newly awakened Schattolaurens somewhat of a pest for Spheres of Imminent Farming, which combined with their appearance and behavior when more awake, gives them a bad wrap for the farming Dooms. After some time, they begin waking up more, and enter their most active state in which they primarily predate other organisms, using their extremely dark coloration, as well as their glowing, almost start like eye, to trick prey into think there's nothing there. As they are ambush predators, they dislike getting startled, and often flee if something tries sneaking up on them. When they get close enough to prey, they will begin chasing them at their fastest speed, which this can sometimes last for ages if they're chasing another one of their kind, though, once they catch prey, they will grab it in its arms and inject them with spite, before consuming them. If they are attacked at all, pursuing prey, or are in one of their other two state, they will freak out and run off. After some time in this active state, they will go back into hibernation for some more months or years. The four lobes on the top and bottom of their colonies exist to increase their surface area for photosynthesis, and also helps deter some predators, if any. They usually reproduce when in hibernation, sending their gametes out into the void of space in hopes that they meat with another and form a new colony.
