The Poostalks are descended from populations of Poop String Trees who began to diversify as small flora, quickly spreading across the oceans. This one genus lives similarly to their ancestor in many ways, since their cells have large brownish-green for photosynthesis. Much like the related Ploralps, the Poostalks have become fully multicellular who reproduce by budding or fragmentation. While they first evolved in the oceans, different groups of Poostalks have independently spread into freshwater habitats on most landmasses. Those that colonized the rivers and streams of Dingus had developed a resistance to radiation due to the high abundance of radfauna. Much like their ancestors and relatives, the Poostalks rely on their rapid reproductive rates to keep up with high predation rates.
