Pissgrove

From 2speccers2tools wiki

The beaches of Cube were relatively open compared to the increasing crowded forests and jungles of the continent, so it was only a matter of time before some Branching Piss Trees would begin to settle the area. There were, however, a few challenges these populations had to face, those being living partially underwater and having to deal with slightly higher amounts of background radiation compared to inland habitats due to the presence of the Spotted Radiomolds. To properly deal with these changes, these populations would develop several distinct adaptations that would lead to them giving rise to the Pissgrove. In some ways, the species had hardly changed from their ancestor, such as their thick pisswood that helps to deter green pissbugs and certain Borebore species and even the strong immune system to fend off parasites. The taxon also has the branches with several photosynthetic lobes growing on them which also still release clouds of spores, which can result in a yellow mist that can cover the whole canopy in certain areas. The most significant changes, instead, are in the root systems which have become far larger and more numerous than their ancestors. The root system is also partially exposed above ground and elevated, allowing the Pissgrove to grow in water without drowning until reaching deeper waters. To also deal with the radiation produced by the Spotted Radiomolds, the root system and the rest of the trunk to an extent have incorporated lead into their structures to provide some protection. The lead is more prevalent in the roots since their much closer to the Radiomolds, but it also provides extra support so the tree does not collapse on itself. The Pissgrove has also settled Cube's river systems, since its adaptations for living along the coast also allow them to thrive there. Those that live at the coasts do have to deal with salty water, and thus expel excess salt through the roots.
