To help escape predators, populations of Nuclear rods developed cilia to swim, allowing them to escape predators with more speed. They still are composed of colonies that form a long chain, each sharing nutrients they get from eating detritus and their fusiotrophic metabolism with one another. The Nuclear Worm has become more radioactive, able to burn smaller predatory cells if they try to attack. This protects them from smaller predators such as Bruhs but they still fall prey to things like the legopig, which are large enough for the radiation produced by the Nuclear Worm to be useless against them.
