Lassier Turdle

From 2speccers2tools wiki

With so much competition in the forests and jungles of Dingus, the og Turdle was on the decline as it was unable to really compete with its descendants. In an attempt to avoid competition, some Turdles would move into the hostile Dingus Desert, where competition from other herbivores is pretty much non existent. There was a reason for this though, as flora diversity in the Dingus Desert is relatively low and the species that do live here are not as abundant in the forests and jungles. To survive, these populations of Turdles would undergo several adaptations, including a change of their diet, and became the Lassier Turdle. To use less resources, the Lassier Turdle has become small for a turdle, being only 40 centimeters long. This does mean it is more vulnerable to predators such as the Snufflord and so the radiation cannon is still well developed, able to deliver lethal wounds or even outright kill potential threats. The Lassier Turdle's lead shell has also developed large spikes for extra defense, though a small ring of spikes around the breathing holes also keeps sand out. With vegetation being uncommon in the desert, the Lassier Turdle has shifted towards being an omnivore, using its large front claws to dig out small prey such as Snufflers or Confusiants. The small dewlap on its throat increases surface area so more heat can escape allowing it to cool down. The Lassier Turdle has also developed sexual reproduction, with two individuals budding next to each other that then merge together and exchange genes. Then, the merged bud would split into 4 genetically distinct offspring. This adaptations means the Lassier Turdle has a much more variable gene-pool which makes them better capable of adapting to suddenly changes to their habitat such an unusually long drought or extra rain causing the area to be more lush.
