As some populations of The bigger cheese got washed into the river systems of Dingus, they began to take advantage of the abundant flora growing within the same environment. This lead to them turning their silicon spikes into hooks to hold onto flora so they do not get dragged away by the strong river currents. This lead to them diversifying and becoming a genus group known as the Hook Cheeses. They still get their energy from photosynthesis, using their pink accessory pigment and poop color pigments to get energy from sunlight. The genus has also developed an eye spot on each end of the cell along with cilia, both of these adaptations allow them to move around and navigate their environment as they try to find something to grab onto. Small species of Hook Cheeses are even known to stab into the cell membranes of larger Hook Cheeses, since they can work just as well as a species of flora on getting a hook-hold. Much like their ancestors, the Hook Cheeses will produce two copies of themselves at once, allowing them to quickly spread to new parts of the river system.
