This split of the Mockanary Shrub is adapted to a previously overlooked ecology within the Dingus Forest - the watersheds. Many organisms are now racing to adapt to these once-obscured environments all throughout 2s2tworld, each seeking to assume a distinct niche, and in the case of the Drenchnom, that niche is of a shrub which can survive in waterlogged soils.

As clay-like riparian soils drain poorly, specialized lenticels are abundant on the Drenchnom’s lead-reinforced trunk, supplying it with extra oxygen. Likewise with its nitrogen intake, the Drenchnom houses many cultures of Nitropellet within its roots. These roots are thick and far-reaching, ensuring that the flora provides a crucial role in maintaining the riparian zones within its range. A healthy Drenchnom can withstand being submerged for a couple of weeks.

Its foliage regenerates relatively quickly in the summer, allowing it to take on multiple browsings from turdles and similar fauna. Said foliage shoots upwards to ensure distance from high water.

Like all mockanary plumbos, the Drenchnom employs golden-orange flowers to beguile male canarflora into dispersing its gametes to other Drenchnoms. Once gametes conjugate with their recipients, a seed forms and makes way to a suitable spot in the riverine soil to grow.
